James R. Scapa
James R. Scapa brings nearly 40 years of engineering experience to his dual role of chairman and CEO of Altair, a title he has held since the company's inception in 1985.
Through Scapa's leadership, the company is now a global leader in computational science and artificial intelligence (AI) that provides software and cloud solutions in simulation, high-performance computing (HPC), data analytics, and AI. Today, the company employs more than 3,000 engineers, scientists, and creatives with more than 74 offices in 27 countries.

Scapa earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Columbia University and a master of business administration degree from University of Michigan.
